In our structural laminated glass production, we use the SentryGlas® ionoplast interlayer, delivering significantly enhanced strength and stiffness compared to conventional PVB interlayers.
SentryGlas® is approximately five times stronger and up to 100 times stiffer than traditional laminating materials. These mechanical properties allow laminated glass to perform as an active structural component in building envelopes, including façades, overhead glazing, balustrades, and safety partitions.
Key advantages of ionoplast interlayer technology include:
- – reduced glass deflection under load,
- – improved post-breakage performance,
- – the possibility of lighter and slimmer glass constructions,
- – enhanced resistance to wind loads and impact forces.
In addition to its structural performance, SentryGlas® provides excellent long-term optical clarity. It is significantly more resistant to moisture exposure and yellowing than conventional interlayers, ensuring long-lasting transparency.
Originally developed for hurricane-resistant glazing systems in the United States, SentryGlas® is now widely used in advanced architectural glazing projects worldwide.
Glass System-Dexpol holds certification for the production of insulating glass units using SentryGlas® interlayers. More information is available here:
